Swādhyāya – the Central Library hosted a workshop titled ‘The Role of AI in Health
Research Publishing’ on April 30, 2026, in association with Elsevier at the DRH
Auditorium of SDM Hospital, Dharwad. The program highlighted the growing impact of AI
on healthcare and health research.
The session was conducted by Ms. Natasha Gulati, Team Manager – Customer Success (SA
& SEA), Elsevier. She presented a comprehensive overview of how AI is transforming the
health research by enhancing the quality and visibility of scholarly output. The talk
underscored how AI-driven tools streamline the publishing process, enabling researchers to
improve the discoverability and global reach of their work.
The session addressed important ethical considerations associated with AI adoption,
including algorithmic bias and data privacy, emphasizing that human oversight remains
essential to maintain research integrity in AI-assisted workflows.
The session concluded with an engaging interactive discussion involving the researchers and
clinicians, followed by a vote of thanks.
