The Library provides specialized services to the faculty members and research scholars who are engaged in research and publishing. These services focus on assisting the users at various stages of research and publishing. The services include conducting orientation sessions about the resources and services, organizing author workshops, assisting with tools to find journals to publish, providing education on research impact metrics, and offering guidance on using reference management tools.
Training & Workshops
The library organizes regular author workshops, conducted by experts from various publishing companies. Such workshops help authors to hone their academic writing skills. Library holds individual as well as group training on topics relevant to those engaged in research and publishing.
Assistance in Selecting Journals
Authors are assisted in selecting journals with strong citation metrics and are guided on how to identify and avoid predatory journals. They are also supported in selecting a journal from a list for submitting their manuscript. The library creates awareness among the authors about indexed journals, citation metrics, and advantages of publishing in open access journals and hybrid journals, as well as the advantages of self-archiving.
Training on Reference Management Tools
Reference management tools play an important role in scholarly writings. The library provides training on using tools such as Mendeley, Zotero and others to help users manage their references efficiently.
Creating Academic IDs
Creating and updating academic IDs is essential for authors to showcase the impact of their research. The library assists the faculty members and research scholars in creating academic IDs such as Scopus ID, ORCID, Google Scholar ID and helps them regularly update their profiles.
Faculty Profile in IRINS and Research Visibility
Creation of profile of the faculty members and researchers working in the constituent units of the University is essential to showcase both individuals and institutional performance. The library has created the IRINS profile for faculty and researchers and provides support for updating these profiles. The library also ensures that the profiles of the faculty members regularly update.
