Welcome to the Central Library of the SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, hub of knowledge and learning. The library, established in July 2004 is centrally located on the ground floor of the College building, ensuring easy access to academic departments, classrooms, hospital, and student hostels. The library is well designed and known for its aesthetics, ambience and functionality.

The Central Library is integral to supporting the institution’s academic and health care endeavors. Over the years, unwavering support of the administration and the users has helped the library to develop a comprehensive and high-quality collection of information resources in medical sciences and allied subjects in print as well as digital media. With the state-of-the-art infrastructure and well-trained staff, the Central Library has established services which focus on the needs of every single user.

The library has automated its functions using Easily integrated library management software to increase efficiency in routine activities and enable easy search of the bibliographic details of the holdings. Off-campus access is enabled to the digital content including e-journals and online databases. Wi-Fi supported access is provided in the library premises and across the campus. The library conducts at regular intervals hands-on training which helps the users to access subscribed online resources and run searches to find authentic and accurate information accessible from the Web. In order to ensure high quality service, the library collects feedback from the users on regular basis and updates the resources, services and facilities accordingly.
