Membership
The students, teaching faculty, and staff involved in providing health care are the beneficiaries of Library’s resources and services. The students enrolled in various courses conducted by the SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital are registered as Library members. They need not apply for membership. The teaching faculty members too will receive library membership during the joining process. All registered members are issued a membership card. Borrower’s card, however, is issued only to the teaching staff, students enrolled in postgraduate, super-specialty courses, fellowship, and PhD programs. The students and staff of all the constituent units of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University are also offered library services without membership. However, they are not eligible for borrowing service.
Membership to Alumni
The alumni are given library membership without any fee. They may apply to the Principal of the SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital for the membership. The service is restricted to reading and in-house reference.
Membership to Retired Staff and Relatives
Library membership is also extended to retired staff, children/spouse of the serving and retired staff without any fee. They need to send an application in this regard to the Principal of the SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital. The service is restricted to reading and in-house reference.
Membership to External Individuals
Medical graduates from other institutions preparing for higher studies, as well as local medical professionals are eligible to apply for library membership. They may send an application to the Principal of the SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital in this regard. This category of membership is offered on a nominal monthly fee of Rs 500. Members in this category are required to pay refundable security deposit of Rs 2500, which will be returned upon termination of their membership.
