The Department of Respiratory Medicine is a centre for diagnosis and management of various respiratory disorders. Following diseases are routinely managed

    • Asthma and allergic disorders
    • COPD
    • Pulmonary Infections (Pneumonia & TB)
    • Sleep-related breathing disorders like Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
    • Interstitial lung diseases 
    • Occupational Lung Disorders
    • Lung Cancer
    • Pleural diseases like effusion, empyema & Pneumothorax
    • Other Chronic respiratory diseases.

Outpatient Services 
  • General OPD: Monday to Saturday 09:00 am to 05:00 pm
  • Asthma Clinic (Every Monday  2:30 – 5:00 pm)
  • COPD Clinic (Every Wednesday 2:30 – 5:00 pm)
  • Pulmonary Rehabilitation Clinic (Every Tuesday 2:30 – 5:00 pm)
  • Bronchoscopy Clinic (All days)
Inpatient Services 
General ward admissions
All types of Respiratory diseases including Bronchial Asthma, COPD, Pneumonia, ILD, Tuberculosis, Pleural diseases, Pulmonary Vascular Diseases are managed.
Intensive Care Unit
We have a well equipped RICU with state of art monitoring facility, advanced ventilators and various accessories required in the care of critically ill patients are available. Patients requiring Non invasive & Invasive Ventilation like Respiratory failure, ARDS, Sepsis are managed.
Diagnostic Services
  • Pulmonary Function Tests (Spirometry & DLCO)
  • Fiber Optic video Bronchoscope
  • Sleep lab for polysomnography study & CPAP titration in the diagnosis of sleep-related disorders
  • Ultrasound / CT guided FNAC, Biopsies
  • Pulmonary rehabilitation programme in association with the physiotherapy department
  • 6-minute walk test
  • Intercostal Tube Drainage, Pleural Aspiration, Pleurodesis
  • Fluorescent Microscopy for diagnosis of Tuberculosis under NTEP
  • DOTS Centre & Designated microscopy center for diagnosis and management of tuberculosis Patients
High Dependency Unit
Respiratory Diseases requiring close monitoring like COPD exacerbations, Bronchial asthma exacerbations, Pneumothorax, Massive hemoptysis, Pulmonary Embolism, patients requiring Non Invasive Ventilation, Oxygen therapy are managed.
All types of Respiratory emergencies are managed.
