About the Department & Specialty:

Established : 2005

The Pediatric Surgery service was started by Dr Anil Halgeri in our institution in 2005. By 2009, a dedicated department of pediatric surgery was set up after the appointment of Dr Venkatesh Annigeri.

The department has emerged as one of the main referral centers for the children requiring surgical aid. We cater large region of North Karnataka as well as Southern Maharashtra. Department predominantly deals with congenital anomalies, acquired pediatric conditions, trauma etc.

It has been provided with a daily running O.P.D, state of art operating room armed with competent anesthesiologists, surgical and laparoscopic instruments, endo urological equipment, bronchoscopy and flexible endoscopy facilities. Department has exclusive beds in neonatal & pediatric ICU to take care of critical neonatal and pediatric cases. Also we have well trained and experienced pediatric surgery nursing staffs at their service. Our department was recognized for M. Ch training program, as per NMC guidelines.

General ward is equipped with 20 beds, dedicated pediatric nursing staffs, regular & emergency drugs, Oxygen facility,2 beds in isolation rooms & monitors. All kind of uncomplicated pediatric surgeries within nominal cost.

Intensive Care Unit

Trauma cares, corrosive aero digestive tract injuries, snake bite, complicated pediatric surgery cases.

High Dependency Unit

Exclusive PICU/NICU beds are designated for pediatric surgery, which is managed along with the pediatric department.

Polytrauma, pediatric solid tumor, pediatric burns.

Emergency

Trauma & wound, foreign body bronchus, intussusception, torsion testis / ovary, perforation peritonitis, acute appendicitis.
