The Department of Endocrinology at SDM Medical College, Dharwad established in the year 2014, is one of the reputed Centres in North Karnataka for the management of diabetes, thyroid and other endocrine problems. The Department of Endocrinology offers advanced hormonal evaluation and dynamic testing for various endocrine and metabolic disorders backed by state-of-the-art diagnostic laboratory. The department deals with problems related to Diabetes mellitus, Thyroid disorders (goitre, thyroid cancer, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism), Irregular menstrual cycles, PCOS, Obesity, Short stature Diabetes in young, Gestational diabetes mellitus, postMenopausal symptoms, Osteoporosis, Adrenal problems(Cushings's disease, Addison's disease), Delayed or early puberty, Pituitary tumors, electrolyte disturbances, hirsutism, Genetic Disorders, Recurrent kidney stones. Clinical and basic science research has always been at the forefront of our priorities.

- Management of electrolytes disorders like hypocalcemia, hyponatremia, hypokalemia etc.
- Conducted regular nursing education programmes regarding insulin and diabetes management.
