Outpatient Services
General OPD:
Timings & Schedule - 09:00 am to 1.00 pm
Timings & Schedule - 02:00 pm to 5.00 pm
Once the patients are discharged from wards they are followed as out patients in the physiotherapy OPD for further management.  Physiotherapist assesses in detail & develops programs and strategies including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, application of electro-physical modalities, necessary splints, orthosis or walking aids to help them manage their daily activities as per their specific needs.
Conditions which are taken care of include: Post-operative discharged wards patients, Peripheral nerve injuries including Brachial plexus injuries, Flexible deformities, Stiff hand, Adhered Scar, Hypertrophic scars, Keloids.
Inpatient Services
Once the patient gets admitted for planned surgery in the wards and is referred for physiotherapy then immediately the physiotherapist visits, takes detail assessment and starts preoperative treatment. 
They are efficiently able to treat post-operative conditions like: Flexor tendon repair in hand, Extensor tendon repair in hand, Crush injury of hand, Correction of deformities of hands and feet, , Tendon release Tendon transfer in peripheral nerve injuries, Tendon repairs, Torticollis, Degloving injuries, various types of skin grafting & flap surgeries, reconstructive surgeries, physical problems secondary to vascular malformation excision,  adhered or contracted scar release, contracture release, nerve repair, nerve grafting, ulcers etc.
Whereas the plan focuses on: Education and protection (for: Skin care in sensory loss, Correct positioning of various involved joints, Edema management), Pain management, Soft tissues mobilization techniques, Soft tissue stretching techniques, Joint mobilization techniques, Joint manipulation techniques, Facilitatory techniques, Intermittent Galvanic Stimulation, Surged Faradic re-education, Muscle strengthening techniques, Re-education for precision & power grips, Proprioceptive & Co-ordination facilitation techniques, Sensory  re-education, Incorporation of adaptive devices for functional assistance.

Neuro Physiotherapy
The unit in the speciality building on the ground floor is actively involved in offering Physiotherapy treatment for Neuro medicine and Neurosurgery patients. The services are offered in both Inpatient as well as outpatient settings.

Inpatient Services
The Orthopaedic In-patient Physiotherapy team experts at SDM hospital have vast experience of assessing and treating orthopaedic patients and are often deployed elsewhere within the hospital to provide orthopaedic input where it is required. Working primarily in orthopaedic wards, we provide full in-patient physiotherapy to elective surgery patients, that is to say, to patients undergoing planned surgical procedures.
Obstetric Physiotherapy

The department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Dharwad was established in 2003.  It is a multispecialty department providing high quality patient care in areas of Antenatal, Intrapartum, Postnatal Care, Family planning welfare, infertility, oncology, urogynecology, adolescent, reproductive tract infection, perimenopausal and postmenopausal problems.  The department brings highly rated clinical services with updated clinical curriculum and advanced trial of research. The vision and mission is to establish a center of excellence for the reproductive health needs of women, train the next generation and be involved in developing research.

The department provides complete obstetric care,  comprehensive family planning, infertility management, prenatal diagnosis, cancer treatment, minimal invasive surgery, menopause management, pelvic floor medicine and reconstructive surgeries. We take pride in managing high risk pregnancies and offer prenatal diagnosis with ultrasonography, amniocentesis. Gynecological cancers are managed by performing radical surgeries and chemotherapy. Special clinics are dedicated to oncology, endocrinology, adolescent gynecology and menopause management.

The department also manages maternal and child health care satellite centers where antenatal care is also provided. Department also conducts cancer screening camps in association with Indian cancer society covering all the nearby villages.
