Paediatrics
The department of paediatrics is multifaceted with all well-developed subspecialties and was established in the year 2003. Following Subspecialties are rendering their services from last couple of years, Neonatology Hematology, paediatric Cardiology, paediatric Surgery are rendering their services. The paediatrics department has functional 4 units with around 100 IPD beds, around 50 NICU beds and 23 PICU beds.
Department of paediatrics and neonatology caters to tertiary level 3 case nicu, the NICU has advanced facilities of catering to the needs of sick Neonates with ventilation facility, 24X7 monitoring with hi-tech gadgets. The NICU further caters to neonatal subspecialty like Neonatal cardiology, Neonatal ROP screening, Newborn Screening, New born hearing program, Neonatal surgery and adequate facilities for IVF babies. NICU has a bed capacity of around 50.
State of art PICU with modern facilities like ventilation, continuous monitoring, central Oxygen section, Haemodialysis and caters to in and around 7-8 districts of north Karnataka. Special isolation unit is present for treatment of snake bite, diphtheria etc.
General Paediatrics OPD runs every day from 8.30 am to 5.00pm Special emphasis on day care facilities like thalassemia day care surgeries are being routinely done.
Human Milk Bank was commissioned in the year 2022 at the hands of Poojya Shri Dr. Veerendra Heggade. Our”Amrutha ” Human Milk Bank is one of the largest Milk Banks in and around North Karnataka. The Human Milk Bank cadres the preterm babies of our NICU and has a full time lactational Counselor.
