Established : 2005

The department of Dietetics started functioning in 2005. 

The department plays a vital role in helping individual patient to improve the nutritional status and overall well-being.

Disease Profile Treated :

Customized Diets for Obesity, Diabetes, PCOD, GDM and Pregnancy Related Disorders, Hypertension,  Thyroid, Renal Diseases,Cancer, Liver Diseases, Malnutrition among children.

Outpatient (OPD) :
Monday to Saturday – 09:00 am to 05:00 pm

Services Provided
  • Screening and Assessment of Nutritional status.
  • Diet planning and counseling for both inpatients and outpatients.
  • Planning, prescribing and implementing Medical Nutrition Therapy. 
  • Inpatients’ diets are served as per the instructions given by qualified dieticians. 
  • Students from Food and Nutrition degree are trained as per their academic requirements in Clinical Nutrition/ Dietetics.
Outpatient service
  • Consultation for all types of diseases and disorders (Malnutrition, Lifestyle disorders obesity, Hypertension, Diabetes, Renal diseases, Liver diseases, Cardiac diseases, Metabolic disorders, etc). 
  • Counseling regarding diet modifications, food habits and lifestyle changes.
  • Assessment of Nutritional Status.
  • Customized diet charts are provided.
Inpatient Services
  • Assessment of Nutritional status of inpatient  which includes
  • Clinical Assessment, 
  • Anthropometric Measurement 
  • Biochemical Assessment
  • Dietary Intake Record 
  • Diet counseling and educating patients and also patients’ attender regarding nutritional requirements of the patient.
  • Diet plan and modifications as per disease condition.
  • Customized diet charts are provided with detailed dietary instructions to be followed at home.
  • Food Service for Inpatients All the inpatients are served quality therapeutic diets.
  • Enteral nutrition for inpatients-Patients who are on enteral nutrition  planned individually and  provided quality nutritional services.  
  • The special types of feeds provided are Ryle’s Tube Feed, PEG Feed and Jejunostomy feed.
  • Customized Neutropenic diets are also planned and served.  
  •  A good quality therapeutic diet is served and hygiene is maintained. 
  •  Diet is provided at bedside for inpatients.
Food Service Timings

Morning Breakfast – 7.30 a. m. to 8.30 a.m.

Lunch – 12.30 p.m. to 1.30 p.m.

Evening Tea  – 4.00 p.m.  to 4.30 p.m.

Dinner  – 8.00 p.m   to 9.00 p.m.
